Winter: A Time For Every Season

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Winter.

It’s hanging around like a guest who overstays her welcome.

This week brought more snow to many of you. We’ve had ice and a little bit of snow in South Carolina, but nothing like the majority of you.

Ice branches_edited-1We had a brief day of ice a few weeks ago.
It’s beautiful, especially when you don’t have to deal with it for days on end.

snowy branches_edited-1I still prefer to have a bit more snow than winter gave us this year.
I took this photo a few years ago during a rare heavy snow.

But for those of you wondering if the temperature will ever rise
and announce the arrival of spring,
I have a few reminders for you.

Turkeys_edited-1The turkeys wandered through my backyard a couple of days ago.
And birds flitted around in our trees singing their songs of spring.

This bluebird visited my backyard last spring.

And this bright butterfly rested in my backyard
for a long time last summer.

Someday soon, we’ll enjoy the colorful and warmer days of spring and summer…

And probably wish for cooler weather.

Are you done with winter?
